Academics
The Delta Zeta Beta Kappa Chapter at Iowa State University was founded in 1931. It was originally a local sorority that aligned with the ideals and common purpose from the first National Sorority, Delta Zeta, that was founded in 1902 by six amazing women at Miami University in Oxford Ohio. The Beta Kappa women have high regard for leadership, service, and sisterhood. Every member is a vital part of the sorority. From the proud alumni that joined us during recruitment every year sharing memories of their own to active members, Delta Zeta-Beta Kappa ensures each past and the present member is recognized & welcomed into the ever-strong sisterhood. The women of Beta Kappa motivate and inspire one another to become the best that they can be.
At Delta Zeta, we pride ourselves on achieving high academic standards. We offer continuous support for all our chapter members. For Sring 2021 as a chapter, we had a 3.40 GPA which is very good!
We have organized study hours each week where members can study together in a quiet area. In addition, we utilize procedures, where women are paired with one another to enhance academic learning. Numerous resources are available at the chapter house including printers and study files filled with old exams and notes.
The Back-Bone of Delta Zeta - Beta Kappa
Mrs. Sandy Horton, is an advisor and holds many roles within Delta Zeta Beta Kappa & in the past with Delta Zeta Nationals. She can be seen being carried below like a queen she is. We also would not be the chapter we are without our advisors on the executive and cabinet positions. Our RCD, House Mom Kate, and the proud alumna of our chapter.
Awards and Achievements
These past years, Delta Zeta-Beta Kappa received the Adelaide See Loving Cup Award in 2018 for the most amount of improvement since the last convention which is given to one Delta Zeta chapter every convention. At the convention, the chapter received several other recognitions for our accomplishments.
